Writing a college essay is hard. Even strong writers often struggle to write about themselves, much less to do so in a way that will help them stand out to college admissions officers. As I often tell my own students, the way to get better at anything is to get timely feedback & apply it to your work. This idea is at the core of what I do as a college essay consultant: provide actionable expert feedback that will help students to find the best versions of their stories, told in their own, authentic voices.
About Me
I'm a veteran high school English teacher with more than 15 years of experience helping students improve as writers. I understand the challenges posed by college essay writing and how to partner with students to help each navigate their own personal path from initial brainstorming all the way to a polished & publishable personal statement. Over the years, I've supported countless students as they've written & revised college essays, both one-on-one and through college essay workshops. I'm passionate about helping each and every student to produce a killer essay, one that will show the world (starting with admissions officers) who they really are. I do this by providing coaching and feedback, not by ghostwriting. Students can and should tell their own stories!I'm also in love with the outdoors, especially the Pacific Northwest, which I call home. I'm an avid hiker, backpacker, trail runner, and mountaineer - hence the theme of the packages below.
